How does being a member of Essence benefit your organisation?
Making connections and disseminating the work of Meridian Raw CIC to other social enterprises and businesses.

What does your organisation have to offer to other Essence members?
Meridian Raw CIC has now been running for over 6 years, so myself and my directors have experience of developing a social enterprise and keeping it running and developing it into the business it is today. In addition, I can take pictures at Essence events!

Photovoice Online Project
In response to the Corvid-19 pandemic and the subsequent Stay at Home orders, Meridian RAW CIC have developed some online participatory photography sessions called Photovoice Online.

Each Photovoice Online session will aim to engage with 10 participants and there will be 2/3 workshops per week, with each workshop lasting for 2/3 hours. Those taking part in Photovoice Online will engage in inspiring photography tasks, which are devised to bring about social interaction, learning, stimulus, discussion, creativity and empowerment. In addition, we aim to recreate the same safe and secure environment as our physical workshops, whereby participants will have the space and time to share their images, describe the feelings around their image and share their personal stories.

These online sessions will be mainly aimed at participants who have experienced or are experiencing mental health problems, those who are socially isolated and those in the community who are disadvantaged. However, due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, there are many more vulnerable people across the country who are experiencing social isolation. So these sessions will be open to all and will go some of the way of alleviating some of the social isolation that vulnerable people are currently going through.  https://www.meridianraw.com/photovoice-online.html
